Mt Lakes Spring Camporee - 2008

Events:
- Fire building: Burning strings or pancake
may be used. (natural resources only)
- Canoe race: Timed relay for each patrol
(qualified BSA swimmers only)
- Catapult Construction: simple construction
of primitive materials only (what is taken out of the wilderness) no metal
or prefab materials. Rope, bucket for weight, cup or leather to hold tennis
ball will only be allowed. Will be judged on knots, accuracy and distance.
- First Aid: A map of first aid stations will
be provided from each station with coordinates that each patrol will have to
find using compass and paces.
- Atlatle throw: Throwing of a 5' dart with
atlatle, will be judged on accuracy (to see what a "Atlatl" is visit http://www.worldatlatl.org/)
- Dutch Oven Supper: Each patrol or troop will
cook an item for supper with a Dutch oven dessert, we will all meet at a
specified location to have a family style supper and to judge the meals
prepared.
Registration: Starts at 4:30 cst. and will
continue until everyone arrives.
Other Notes:
- One vehicle will be permitted per campsite
for emergency use only, Please, no running from front side to back side in
vehicles (we need to keep everyone safe).
- Unless each unit has an adopted campsite, we
will be assigning campsites to help with the traffic flow.
- Cost will be $8.00 per youth and adult for
the Camporee including a patch (patches are already in hand)
