The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
The Mountain Lakes District serves scouts in Jackson and Marshall counties.
There are several Scouting Units in the Mountain Lakes District. They encompass numerous Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, and Venture Crews. These units are made up of both youth and adult members. The adult volunteers are encouraged to guide the youth through the Scouting program. For more information on a Pack, Troop or Crew in your area visit our Unit Locator Page
Leadership is mainly handled in the Mountain Lakes District by volunteers. With the exception of one full-time professional district executive, volunteers help to run many of the activities at the district level. Volunteers can serve in units and on committees at the district and council level.
